POCUS Practice
What is POCUS?
POCUS Practice
POCUS is an abbreviation for point of care ultrasound. Point of care ultrasound is ultrasound done at the bedside by the treating provider. Instead of the patient going to a radiology suite for a specific test and having the doctor wait for the test to be done, the images read, the report dictated and transcribed before it reaches the doctor’s inbox, the doctor at the patient’s bedside is able to use a handheld ultrasound or a mobile cart based ultrasound to look at specific body systems to more quickly and accurately diagnose a patient’s illness. Why would you want to do POCUS?Heading 3 |
